Objectives
The following points tell more about Seed Association of M.P.:
- To impart training to farmers free of cost to boost up agriculture production of M.P.
- To solve the problems related with production and marketing of seeds in M.P. jointly by the seed producing and marketing companies.
- To protect the legal rights of private seed companies, promote a healthy seed industry parallel to public sector undertaking central / state seed corporations in M.P.
- To help in making available Breeder seeds.
- To help the private seed companies in extension and publicity of newly evolved research varieties of seeds by their own R&D projects.
- To help the private seed companies in production / processing / quality control/certification / sales of high quality seeds of all types to farmers.
- To present the interests of the private seed companies to get facilities/rebates/ legal rights before the government
- To create a healthy, creative and technical atmosphere in M.P. for welcome of latest improvements and biotechnology in production as well as marketing segments so that a good platform is created to attract investments of Major seed companies of India as well as abroad. We want our M.P. seed industry as strong and progressive as it is in Maharashtra, Karnataka, A.P. & Gujarat etc.
- The no. of seed companies who are members of SAMP is 129 belonging to M.P. & other states like M.S., Gujarat, KS., A.P., U.P. & W.B.
